Note: Always check ahead for the current status of happy hours. Due to the pandemic, many happy hours have been paused. Read more about this in our article about “The Current State of NYC Nightlife and Rules You Should Know.”
Say it with me. “I do not like spending $15 on a vodka soda.” However, that’s a common struggle for the average New Yorker. And with most happy hours ending at 6 PM, it’s hard to catch a good deal if you work a 9 to 5. What’s the point of a happy hour if you can’t get it on time. Right?
So if you are on the hunt for drink specials that run past 6 PM, then you’ve come to the right place. Here you will find a long list of local bars from midtown Manhattan down to SOHO with some of the best late-night happy hour deals in the city.
And besides having great late drink specials, these aren’t bottom of the barrel dive bars. So you can feel confident about bringing a date, friends, or even a business prospect to toss back a few value-priced drinks and not find yourself in a dump!
Before we start, here’s a handy map that highlights all of the neighborhoods in Manhattan to help you to pinpoint which bars are near you.

It’s the free mechanical bull rides hands down. So you get to show off your undies to the world or discover the thrill of projectile vomit. Nuff said.
You absolutely should ride the mechanical bull and act like you know what you’re drunken self is doing. But, don’t expect any mercy from the DJ controlling the bull if you’re a guy. The DJ will purposely ramp it up from level 1 to 10 in the blink of an eye. So all you’ll likely remember is getting on then, the sound of your friends laughing hysterically at you crumpled in a corner.
On the other hand, if you’re a lady in a dress they will make sure that your ride lasts a long time as they do their best to make your dress go over your shoulders.
If you are smart, just enjoy the great happy hour and watch other bull riders wipeout.
