The Best Bars in Manhattan For Happy Hour 1

Last Updated on:

Say it with me. “I do not like spending $15 on a vodka soda.” Nor do I my friend. So to prevent that from ever happening, today we will satisfy your search for the best happy hours in NYC.

Here you will find a list of 15 local bars from midtown Manhattan down to SOHO with the absolute best and cheapest happy hour deals. And unlike other lists, I won’t be confusing you by listing bars that are actually in Brooklyn and LIC. This article focuses on the Manhattan area, bringing up anywhere else would be downright misleading.

Besides having the best happy hour deals, these venues aren’t bottom of the barrel dive bars.  They are clean enough for you to use the bathrooms without worrying about catching tetanus. And since these aren’t the “high end” bars, you won’t have to fret over appearances as much. You can dress casually, comfortably, and even bring a date or business prospect to toss back a few value-priced drinks without looking too frugal.

And possibly best of all, I am a local who has been to these bars, had a good time, and left with his wallet intact. So think of me as that friend who always drags you to an “awesome bar” that he/she found.

That being said,  here are my 5 requirements for a bar to even make this list:

  • Centrally located in Manhattan, NYC
  • The happy hour prices are cheaper relative to nearby bars
  • The happy hours run until 7 pm or later
  • The venue is presentable enough for a casual date or drinks with co-workers
  • They are in great Manhattan neighborhoods to go drinking in

To help you coordinate your game plan, here’s a map that I found with of all of the Manhattan neighborhood for you to match up with the bars:

List of manhattan neighborhoods

My 4-Star Review:  Beer pong tables are on both levels with a second smaller bar serving on the floor. They play pop music on speakers and weekends have a live DJ. It is a spacious venue with ample seating and booths on the first floor, tables on the top floor.

The crowd here gives a very strong frat party feel which is perhaps part of the appeal, although I’ve never been to one I’m sure this is what it might be like. Overall, a very chill spot to go with a group of friends or even take a date who likes a very social and casual but clean atmosphere.
